Hike #110 2020

December 29

Colorado received some snow on Monday and we took the opportunity to get out on a hike Tuesday morning before work. We love hiking in fresh snow and try to take every opportunity to get out on the trails after snowstorms, dependent on road conditions of course. Because roads were pretty icy we drove 10 minutes to the area below Horsetooth Reservoir.

When we first started our hike it was very foggy out but it soon cleared. It was hovering around 20 degrees with a slight breeze and once we began our incline to the overlook, we warmed up quickly.

In fresh, non-compacted snow we like to put the dogs gaiters on over their booties to prevent snowballs from forming on their legs. On this hike they wore their bandanas from @nomadic.tails.

We hiked 3.8 miles with 488 feet of elevation gain wrapping up our hikes for 2020. Maxi and Zeus completed 110 hikes this year, which is 38 more hikes than they did last year. Now on to 2021!
