Hike #1 2021

January 1, 2021

Happy New Year!

We spent New Years day walking on a closed snowy road which leads to an area with a handful of lakes. When we arrived at the trailhead it was a chilly 5 degrees with clear skies, however once we started walking thick and low-lying clouds started rolling in covering our mountain views. Because of this we didn’t take many pictures, but it was still a great morning spent outside before I had to head in to work at 1pm.

This was the first and last view we had of the mountains, before long they were hidden behind the clouds.

This is the first frozen lake we arrive at. We had planned to go farther to another lake but due to the clouds we cut our hike short.

It was so cold out that my hair froze from my breath. The dogs beards were also quite frozen.

We ended up hiking a little over 5 miles with 413 feet of elevation gain. We’ll definitely be back to see the view!
