HIKE 91 2020
September 19 - Rocky Mountain Views
It’s leaf peeping season which means we’re on the hunt to find those fall colors. We’ve done this hike several times in the past and we noted that there were a handful of aspens along the trail. We chose this particular hike because Scott’s parents were in town and the views into Rocky Mountain National Park are beautiful. The trail also isn’t too long or steep and it was going to be a warm day so we didn’t want something too strenuous.
We left home around 6am and got to the trailhead just after 7am. The aspens had just began their color change and lit up the side of the trail with yellow.
We hiked up the mountain as the sun peaked through the clouds and the views got better and better. We stopped several times to take pictures of the dogs.
Once we reached the top we ate some PB&J sandwiches and enjoyed the views overlooking Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.
This hike was just over 4 miles long with 1000 ft of elevation gain.
