Hike #106 2020

December 6

One of my favorite things about winter is being able to hike on closed roads to mountain passes. These high elevation roads are usually packed with people in the warmer months but can be relatively empty during the colder ones. It was a chilly 7 degrees when we started, however as we hiked up the road the sun slowly started warming us up.

Once we reached the top we hiked along one of the side trails to get some views of the surrounding mountains.

After taking a couple dozen pictures of the dogs around this area, Zeus and I geared up and ran up and down the road while Scott took some pictures and Maxi pranced around.

Maxi also had fun chasing us while we jogged around.

We hiked 5.7 miles with 830 feet of elevation gain.
