Hike #36 2021

July 3rd, 2021

With Scott out of town this weekend, he asked I pick hikes that we have all done together many times before so that he wouldn’t be too jealous of our adventures. With that in mind, I chose a hike for today that is very familiar to us.

We arrived at the trailhead at 5:20am and began our hike shortly after. The sun was just starting to rise which made the few clouds in the sky glow orange.

This trail follows along a stream as you gain elevation up to the mountain pass.

After a couple miles of incline, we reached the pass. We took a short break here before heading north to climb to the top of one of the surrounding mountains.

After another mile or so we made it to the top of the 11,633 foot mountain.

We relaxed at this spot for about 25 minutes before heading back down. Next time we come up to the pass we’ll head south and get a closer view of the mountains you see below.

We hiked 7 miles with 1,794 feet of elevation gain.
